Academic Program Description and Objectives

Welcome to our fully online Master of Arts in Counseling degree program, designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a fulfilling career as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Our program is approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for LMFT licensure in California.

Our courses are conveniently structured to last 6 to 8 weeks, allowing you to develop a schedule that accommodates your busy lifestyle and complete the program within two to three years. Upon graduation, you'll be ready to sit for your licensing examination after completing the required 3,000 supervised hours.

Our Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy program focuses on providing you with clinical skills, spiritual foundations, and self-knowledge necessary to help clients heal and restore their relationships. You'll develop a strong ethical and cultural sensitivity that will enable you to serve clients in both Christian and secular settings.

Prepare for CA Licensure. Our MFT program meets California licensure requirements, and we provide resources and guidance to assist students with licensure in other states.

Forming Therapists. As a Christ-centered MFT program, we prioritize the formation of our students as marriage and family therapists, equipping them to make a kingdom impact in the world, their community, and the local church.

Intercultural Experience. Working with families from diverse backgrounds in Southern California, you'll develop intercultural competence and study the impact of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, and sexuality on counseling practices.
